Note: this story is based on media reports and has not yet been officially confirmed by the company.

Samsung’s Galaxy S26 family has become more expensive in the US, bringing the entry-level 256GB model to $999. According to The Verge, citing Phone Arena, most configurations have received a $100 increase, while the highest-capacity S26 Ultra has jumped by $200.

The changes add another price increase for the standard S26 and S26 Plus, which already launched at higher prices than their S25 counterparts.

The new prices by model

The Verge reports that Samsung’s official US website now shows the following prices:

| Model | Storage | Previous price | New price | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Galaxy S26 | 256GB | $899 | $999 | | Galaxy S26 | 512GB | $1,099 | $1,199 | | Galaxy S26 Plus | 256GB | $1,099 | $1,199 | | Galaxy S26 Plus | 512GB | $1,299 | $1,399 | | Galaxy S26 Ultra | 256GB | $1,299 | $1,399 | | Galaxy S26 Ultra | 512GB | $1,499 | $1,599 | | Galaxy S26 Ultra | 1TB | $1,799 | $1,999 |

The 1TB Ultra is the outlier: its $200 adjustment is twice the increase applied to the other listed configurations. It also puts that version just below $2,000, while the least expensive standard S26 sits just below $1,000.

At the updated prices, the 512GB S26 costs the same as the 256GB S26 Plus. Likewise, the 512GB Plus and the 256GB Ultra both carry a $1,399 price tag.

A second increase over the S25 generation

The Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus were each $100 more expensive at launch than their equivalent S25 predecessors, according to the report. Samsung attributed part of those earlier increases to rising RAM prices.

With the latest adjustment included, the base Galaxy S26 now costs $200 more than the base Galaxy S25 did. The source does not provide a separate explanation from Samsung for this newest round of increases, so its earlier comments about RAM costs should not be treated as confirmation of the cause this time.

Samsung is not alone in raising smartphone prices: The Verge also notes increases from Apple and Google during the year covered by its report.

Galaxy S26 FE avoids the latest change

The Galaxy S26 FE appears to be the sole exception to this round of price increases. Its starting price remains $699, according to The Verge.

That does not mean the FE escaped a generational price rise. Its starting price was already above the S25 FE’s. Still, it remains outside the latest adjustments affecting the standard S26, S26 Plus and S26 Ultra configurations.
